<empty> GRC Wins Federal Laboratory Consortium Technology Transfer Excellence Award (link opens new browser window)

A metallic foam developed at NASA's Glenn Research Center for the reduction of turbofan engine noise was selected the winner of the 2009 Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) Midwest Region Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer. The award was presented at the 2009 FLC Midwest Regional Meeting in Bloomington, Ind.

Northeast Ohio Software Association (NEOSA) awards GRC's Optimal Trajectories by Implicit Simulation version 4 (OTIS4) by John Riehl, Waldy Sjauw, Robert Falck, Stephen Paris (Boeing Phantom Works) with Special Recognition for the Best Software Product category.

GRC Technology Is Runner Up for Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Award

GRC's Miniature Implantable Radio Frequency (RF) System for Real Time Telemetry from Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) Based Sensors and Actuators by Dr. Rainee Simons and Dr. Felix Miranda was selected as a Runner Up in the Wireless category of the Wall Street Journal's Technology Innovation Awards.

The R&D 100 Awards salute the 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace over the past year. Three teams from GRC won this prestigious award in 2009.

AeroSpace Frontiers coverOTIS 4 Software—Winner of NASA's 2008 Software of the Year Award—Featured in AeroSpace Frontiers (link opens new browser window)

A team of engineers—three from NASA Glenn and one from Boeing Phantom Works—has earned NASA's 2008 Software of the Year Award for the development of a general-purpose program used to perform trajectory performance studies for a wide variety of vehicles including aircraft, rockets, satellites and interplanetary vehicles.

NASA and ZIN Technologies Share NorTech Innovation Award (link opens new browser window)

A medical device developed by NASA's Glenn Research Center and ZIN Technologies Inc. was selected to receive the 2009 Northeast Ohio Technology Coalition, or NorTech, Innovation Award. The awards were presented during a dinner reception and ceremony February 18 at Windows on the River in downtown Cleveland.

<empty> NASA Technology Licensed for New MEMS Pressure Sensors (link opens new browser window)

Glenn has licensed three patents, covering high-temperature, harsh-environment, silicon carbide (SiC) pressure sensors, to Endevco Corporation, San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Endevco is a leading designer and manufacturer of dynamic instrumentation for vibration shock and pressure measurements.
